  • spot3In this video we’re going to change our 5 color image down to 3 spot colors. Very powerful technique to reduce printing costs and plates involved. You can create some really cool images this way. Watch the video below now!

I’ve had to do this before, but ran into trouble with the file extension. It only lets me save in either a DCS 2.0 or PSD format. Could the same result be achieved by converting the image to a tritone and saving as an eps?
Also, do you have to convert to spot colors in the cmyk mode, or can you do the same from an rgb document?
Also, what about converting a cmyk image to spot colors where the colors don’t overlap, but only touch?

It nerves badly. Why I am asked to update my membership. I just was able to look at one Tutorial. Then had to log in again. Touched Paypal site. For today time is over I an not in the mood to spend another half an hour for nothing. Sorry
this evening is not my thing.

    Mike’s Response To ErnstWalther:
Hi ErnstWalther, Some content on our site is free. Other tutorials (currently over 280) are only available to Gold Members who pay for the privilege of accessing the content. If you try to access ‘Gold Member’ only tutorials you’ll be asked to first upgrade your membership UNLESS you are in deed a Gold Member. Also, regardless of your level of Membership, if you close your web browser during a session, you will have to log in again when you start a new session. Now, I don’t know if this resolves your challenge or not because I don’t have enough information about exactly what happened when you tried to log in. If you can let me know I’ll be more than happy to help.

    Hope this helps,

    MIke
