I do not like it! You have to HUNT for everything .. it is not as simple and down to earth as ProPhotoSecrets.. I hate this new site.

@Anna: OUCH! Thanks for your honest feedback Anna. I agree, it can be a little tricky to navigate – the good news is, this format is going to allow us to deliver a LOT more content to our members (you) over the coming months and years. AND – as you will soon see – it’ll get easier to navigate as time goes on. Thanks again!

    Hi Shane,

I like your site but I’m lost.
I am to tired (weak) to think!
At first sight it seems perfect.
If I find something wrong,I’ll let you know…

Enjoy your site and your instructional videos. They have been down to earth and most useful in many of the assignments that I get involved with.

As a member of your other photoshop website, do I also have access to the “PhotoshopZoo” web tutorials as well?

when I tried to log in it wanted me to enable cookies. I don’t want to do that so that means I can’t use your site.

@Jaylou – maybe use a decent browser like Firefox – it’s more secure and a faster browser than IE, infact why don’t you try “any” browser besides IE? You’ll have a better internet experience! ;)

    Hey Shane & Mike…..
The site looks wonderful! You both have it looking polished, upbeat, and by the way…
    (pic)very professional looking Shane!!!
I’ve been watching it’s growth for about 2 yrs. now, and it only keeps getting better!!
I have 2 of your Cd’s, and I don’t even own Photoshop! I use alot of the tutorials in PSP X2, and they have helped me more than the (paid)classes I’ve attended in nite school.
I’m totally fasinated with animation, and digital scrapbooking. My main weaknesses are masks, filters, and the histagram(sorry about the spelling, lol) Would love to see more free videos too. Watching them makes me feel like a friend is teaching me,not some stuffy paid actor! Keep it up….and I’ll keep watching…and learning. Thanks!

I like the new site new mug and all. It has a fresh look to the site. I would like to learn more on how to make and use styles, both for backgounds and text styles. Also I would like to learn a little more on actions – how to make my own and how to use them properly.

Shane, I’ve learned a lot already from the free tutorials I reviewed in 2008. Thanks! I want to learn so much more, I can’t possibly list everything. Regarding the new site, it’s definitely more user friendly than the previous one; however, ready for some constructive criticism? When I clicked the product link, I expected to see the product and cost info, and such. It’s too much information to look at when all you want is info regarding the product itself. The More Info page headings are way too big and I think the testimonials/reviews should be kept on the Review page. Again, TMI. Note: I am currently not a member, but hope to become one soon.

Keep up the good work and best of luck for the future

p.s. — Will you be updating or does this site replace prophotosecrets?

Be nice to have the option to show the videos in order they were made rather than latest at the top. Otherwise one may try a video part 2 before seeing part 1.
Be nice to see how to make a nice fancy email to announce something.
    Thanks.

Hey Shane, great look to the website!! I love it!
I would like to learn more about layers, how to make your own brushes…I mean how do they make those beautiful swirls and flowers in PS??? I want to design my own greeting card templates so making your own brushes and backgrounds and “scrapbooking” kind of stuff…of course there are lots of other things we all can learn in PS. Thanks Shane!

    New site looks great.

I would like to find out how to adjust colors on jewelry to make them look more vibrant and to make the color of the stones be closer to the actual colors. I do unique jewelry designs and a lot of the time the colors get changed with the lighting needed to stop reflections.

I also do sandblasting in crystal and glass which seems to be an impossible task to get it done without a lot of reflections. I would like a method to remove these reflections. The tutorial you have for the eye glass reflections is similar but with the light in the crystal it’s a lot more difficult.

    Thanks for the great tutorials.

The site has a nice simple, clean yet stylish look. I personally would like the tutorials moved to a separate link at the top to keep the home page shorter (there’s currently a lot of scrolling)

As for your photograph, you are looking very pleased with yourself and why not – a nicely constructed website that easy to navigate.

Shane, congrats, easy to navigate and your way of going through the steps rather briskly makes me concentrate and focus better. I can always press the pause button and take notes.
I am just a little PSE7 user and there4 have to “emulate” when trying to follow your instructions. Is PSE doomed to die away ?? I sometimes have the hunch they might do this in the frame of product “alignment”
    Cheers

    Hi,

Great look to new revamp! I’m a jewellery designer in the UK and don’t have a website purely because I want to take my own photos of my jewellery and edit them to a high standard and can’t!

I need a tutorial that would show/teach me how to pick out my jewellery and put it on a selection of different backgrounds. I see tuts on how to do this with people but not jewellery which has a lot of editing within the jewellery it’s self.

    Can you help?

Apropos of the photograph – I approve, because its easier to relate to an image like this when listening to your voice. Many of us are retired and some, like me, have progressed from PS3 right through to CS, but have called a halt there – mainly because of the ongoing cost of upgrades and the arrogance of Adobe. We will never master part, leave alone the entire PS repertoire but we want to keep trying the basics. So don’t forget that we oldies are out here with our outdated CS and outdated greycells to match. Keep it simple is the only request I have. On an entirely different issue can you recommend good Premiere Elements tutorials please?
I do admire your energy and enthusiasm but some of your past promos have been difficult to comprehend. Have a good 2009 – Greg.

Like I told you about this time last year,I am a 78 y.o. pensioner, have had this computer for 3 years now & in the next 15 years I may learn how to use it.
One of my tuters 3 years ago was enlarging & colouring in a photograph for a client from a 120 print.
I have many such snaps from early last century & would like to do the same to some.
All of your dvd,s that I have are written in early Mongolian.I’d have to have something like (Place snap on platen glass & scan to full page, then click on?)

    Hi Shane it would help if you also included Corel Paint Shop Pro photo X2 as this is the only one that I have found that will down load raw files from my camera , as well as Canon Digital Photo Professional,as not every one uses CS3 regards harry. ps you do look good;

I’d like to learn how to do HDR.

  • #30 avatar sam:-)
    January 5, 2009 4:27 pm

    1) Creating “motion” with Photoshop and flash. A la TV commercials where they make the cars look like they are spinning on the showroom floor. I know it has to do with blur and a kind of trompe l’oeil of sorts.

    2) Photoshop/Flash creating the “bouncing” button. Again, I know it has to do with the blur.

    3) Photo restoration (old, damaged photos)

    4) Photoshop with 3D apps — for graphic design and illustration…not for motion or gaming.

    5) Photoshop to create stunning PowerPoint graphs

    6) Photoshop to create stunning icons for websites or for Vista

OK. That should be enough for now…well, what are you waiting for? Get to it! SMILE!

The site is brilliant. Congrtulations! I’d love to learn how to make my piccies different to ordinary snapshots. ie HD or any thing similar. Especially as I only own a Sony compact camera. I get superb results with the help of CS2 but I’d love to do something spectacular.
Best wishes and Happy New Year.

I’m very familiar with receiving email from “Shane Goldberg” and “Shane and Mike”, but I almost deleted this email before reading it as I was unfamiliar with the name “PhotoshopZoo”.

And while not a choice, I would have voted that Shane looks younger than I thought :-)

I have been playing with ProPhoto secrets constantly for the past 6 days. Your videos are awesome. I am looking through them all at the moment, and then I will go back and open each one, put it side by side with Photoshop CS3, and copy your steps. I reckon that’ll be a great way to learn.
Thanks for your expertise, your videos are terriffic, easy to follow and you don’t speak down to people. I like that. Great to have an Aussie rather than a Yank too!
