    Hi Shane,
Thanks for the video – very cool! I’ve just installed CS5 (from CS3). Worked with a couple of pics just to see if it works (it does). Would you do a video/tutorial (or point me to one) that enables me to move my actions from 3 over to 5, and any tips in setting up the basic screen to take advantage of the new applications?
    Thanks,
    Mike

OH MY GOSH!! That was so impressive. It makes me want CS5 just for that! I’m stuck with CS3 for a while though. :(

Hey J, I hear ya. It’s very cool and a big time saver. Depends on how much editing you’re doing I guess as to whether it would be worth the upgrade for that feature alone but it’s pretty sweet though!! :)

Yes I enjoy all the videos but as yet don’t have photoshop. Thanks. it does seem complicated. Im wondering how much I would really use it as I enjoy taking the photo rather than sprucing it up

Hey Nell, If you don’t really do any post editing then don’t worry about it. If you dabble a bit then maybe just look at some of the real cheap stuff like Adobe Elements. Which is pretty cool and will have more than enough in there to do what you may need.

What will Photoshop come up with next. It gets better and better with addition. This new feature has saved me hours of work cleaning up pictures to make them better. Thanks!

I’ve been using the Spot Healing Brush and making sure the Content Aware is selected on the tool bar. Very usefull tool. Thanks for the extra information.

OK guys I own up, I am very skeptical of Adobes motives, they behave like every other corporate giant in the US. It’s all about $ and I for one am not upgrading to CS5. Fear not if you think you can’t live without the heavily marketed ‘content aware fill tool’ or as some wag posted in a response to Adobe’s promo video ‘the watermark replacement tool’ there are FREE alternatives out there, GIMP has a tool that behaves very similarly or give this online tool a try . . .

Hey Peter, thanks for your remarks. Yeah, at the end of the day their motives are to make more money. They’re a business. That’s the nature of it.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone ‘upgrade’ unless you really want to or think the added tools are worth your while. There’s some good, OK, and crappy free tools out there. The way Adobe has positioned themselves with their products is as the industry standard. It’s very difficult for newcomers to find work because they can use Gimp or some other free tool when 98% of employers, design firms, printing companies, and photographers are using Adobe’s products :)

With all the different upgrades I actually really like the CS5 upgrade, it’s fast and has some great new features that for me personally I feel make it worth it.

      Great to hear your thoughts.
      Shane

Fair comment Shane and I don’t disagree with you, but feel that Photoshop is fine for professionals and some long standing amateurs that have been using it on a regular basis for many years but for newcomers it is a daunting prospect and an expensive one. I feel it needs a total overhaul to bring it back to a reasonable size, but in the meantime I will still watch and enjoy your excellent video tutorials.

        Cheers

        Peter
