Albert asks, “I’ve been taking photos in both RAW and JPEG.
Am I wasting my time and memory space taking RAW pictures?
What is your advice?”

We discuss the purposes and use of camera RAW. The pros and cons. Plus, what file format most working photographers are using for efficient workflow and best use of their time. Do you use camera RAW? Or JPEG. Tell us your experience with both in the comments section below.

Shoot from the hip – Episode # 2 Now Live
What is the best software to sort your photos?
What back-up options are out there?
Please keep in mind that ‘external hard drives’ are not bullet proof! They can fail and do fail occasionally. So think about a combination or multiple redundancy strategies e.g. RAID hard drives for your computer, offsite backup including DVD burning and store elsewhere (could be as simple as sending to a friend, family in a different area to you), online offsite backup, external hard drives etc.
Now it’s your turn to “shoot from the hip”. Tell us (in the comment section below )how you backup your Photos or editing work. While you’re at it, tell us what you think of the new audio segment. Good? Bad? Or indifferent?
If you’d like your question answered click here to submit it and if it gets selected we’ll cover it in our next episode of ‘Shoot from the hip’ with Shane & Mike.
